ptAgenda: 5 e 6 Junho 2024, Barcelona

Com fer feminista la nostra ciutat?

On June 5th and 6th, TransFemina conducted its first public encounter, with the participation of people from different local neighbourhoods, and artistic and feminist collectives. During these two days, the main goal was to share and learn from epistemologies, methodologies, and experiences from networks of people who have been putting into practice how to integrate a feminist perspective in the public space, for example through public art interventions and in the end, how to feminize our cities.

The first day of the public event, on June 5th, began with a presentation of the European project TransFemina and the three partners, continued by a round table where different collectives working with Col·lectiu Punt 6 presented projects that conducted as a network between feminist organisations and artists. In this roundtable we learnt from: the Community Care Network, the Cycling Feminist Network, the Mediterranean Network of Feminist Urban Planners, and the artistic work of Tonina Matalas, who was in charge of the graphic report during the full encounter, and the audiovisual work of CoopTècniques. After the roundtable, there was a workshop on how to conduct community mapping. In the evening, an exploratory walk was organised to share with partners and participants how to develop these feminist qualitative methods and how they can be adapted or used for the Local Laboratories.

On June 6th in the morning, we continued with another roundtable of networks. We learnt from the Network of Public Toilets and its fanzines designed by Alba Feito & Odile Carabantes, the Network of Feminist Economy La Insòlita, the Network of Ecofeminist Housing Communities, the Network of Feminist School Playgrounds, and the designs and drafts of Marta Fonseca that illustrate several projects of Col·lectiu Punt 6.

From June 4th to June 7th, the partners were also together in Barcelona for the final preparations of the Encounter and other internal activities to discuss and work on the project. The collective DRUKKER also participated in the Encounter and in an internal meeting to coordinate the fanzine to be developed throughout the project.
